Tara Petito

Tara Petito is the bonus mother of Gabby Petito. After Gabby’s tragic murder, Tara dedicated herself to honoring her legacy through the Gabby Petito Foundation, which supports efforts to locate missing persons and advocates for the prevention of domestic violence.

A proud mother of three and a domestic violence advocate, Tara believes deeply in the power of love, memories, and living life to the fullest. Gabby, her only daughter, held a special place in her heart - she never saw herself as “just” a stepmother, but as someone who shared a deep and meaningful bond with her.

Gabby’s life and loss reshaped Tara’s perspective, reinforcing how fragile life is and how important it is to cherish time with loved ones. On the stage at Crime Unfiltered, Tara carries that lesson forward, encouraging others to create memories, find joy in simple moments, and live fully with intention.
